We are proud to announce that the New Urbanism Film Festival has taken on a board of directors to help the festival grow in size and shape and expand its outreach in promoting walkable, mixed-use development and sustainable communities.
Neal Payton is the west coast director of TortiGallas Partners. He has won multiple awards for Transit Oriented Design projects. Payton brings an enthusiasm and passion for the intersection of film and urban planning.
Peter Quintanilla is a Senior Urban Designer at Placeworks. He has worked on New Urbanism projects all around the world, including projects for Prince Charles and Andres Duany. We are excited to have his expertise and experience help shape the festival.
Jasmin Martin brings a love of film and DIY inspiration to the festival. She has been a producer, line producer, production coordinator or many feature films, series, and independent films. She was also the acting department coordinator for the New York Film Academy.
Kyle Sears is a pastor of a Pasadena Presbyterian church. Sears has been involved in building place-based communities for decades. He brings an enthusiasm for the personal and community benefits of urban design and how it can fully enrich our lives.
Joel Karahadian is a founding member of Noodles & New Urbanism, he hosted many of the local neighborhood events like our music nights and poetry nights. He’s also one of the founders of the Film Festival and is a regular at CNU gatherings.
Hollis is the founder and director of the LA Diversity Film Festival. With a background in acting and film production and experience heading up a documentary film festival rooted in advocacy and awareness, Hollis brings insight and experience to the filmmaker resources dimension of the festival.
