The California Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism presents their annual awards for urban designer and governmental agency of the year.  Previous winners have included Neal Payton, Rick Cole, Southern California Association of Governments, Dao Doan, and Jeff Tumlin.

The awards are presented by Howard Blackson, president of the California Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism.  Honorees offer brief reflections on the state of urbanism in California.  These speeches are not to be missed!

The awards presentation is part of the screening of Urban Design Short films.

Local urbanists give short presentation on projects and theories they are currently working on in Los Angeles.  This is a great way to get a personal and up close look at the city and its future. The goal of the presentations is to create a series of short films that will premiere at the end of the festival.
