URBAN CONGA

Architecture Students from Tampa FL took their engineering know-how to the streets to encourage people to think about how they interact with public spaces.  Whether it is through a “Tree of Technology,” giant building fins, or a public park mid-day dance party, the Urban Conga is re-activating public space.  The group will be in Los Angeles during the festival, reactivating spaces all over L.A.

Unsatisfied with bicycle parking outside his office, Casey buys a bike rack from online and installs it himself.

IMPROVISED BIKE LANES

Timid bicyclists are always being coached to “take the lane” rather than riding in the gutter.  Instead of taking the lane, why not give yourself a lane?  These bicyclist put in their own bike lanes.  An idea so good, the city eventually made it official.  Eventually.
