The New Urbanism Film Festival presents:

BEST OF 2014 NEW URBANISM FILM FEST MARCH 24A one night event featuring the winning short films from last year’s festival.  If you missed the festival last year, or you saw only one or two of the events, this is your chance to see the best of each category!

As New Urbanism is always about synergistic energy, the screening will feature several guests.

Pop-up Bike Shop:  The local bike shop and repair center, La Brea Bike Works will be hosting a pop-up bike shop.  Stop by to say hi, meet the owner of the store, pick up some cool accessories for your ride or for a friend! The shop will be open in the lobby starting at 7pmImage

Pop-up Art Gallery:  Ann Bridges teaches art classes atop the penthouse floor of a skyscraper in the Mid Wilshire Area.  She teaches quarter long courses, on going courses, and one day group events.  In her own painting, she specializes in urban landscapes.  Check out her work on display in the theater lobby, or take it home (select pieces for sale), or sign up for one of her classes!  Bridges’ art will be on display in the lobby starting at 7pm

Beautiful Things LA:  These designers converted a vintage school bus into a mobile boutique shop that features products from California designers.  Check out their chic items and cool venue.  The bus will be parked outside the theater starting at 8pm

BUStedLA!  This storytelling show won the 2014 Emerging Ideas award for its unique community building effort to demystifying the bus. It certainly doesn’t beautify or idealize the bus (like I would do) but it does open people up to the possibility of taking public transit… if only for the material!  Scott Schultz, founder of the show, will perform a story during the line up of films.

The following films will be screened during the program:
